Dear Mother Ocean & Mother Nature ...

If we don't get a long enough weather window to get to the Dry Tortugas soon, we're going to be BROKE!  We really need a little help here!  Please send us just one week without a major cold front ... please...   look what happens when we get "stuck" in paradise!

Please tell me how we're supposed to resist gorging ourselves on stone crab claws every afternoon ... fully cracked, all we have to do is eat... and eat ... and eat...   :)  Happy hour at it's best!  YUM!  From 1 PM - 9 PM only at the upstairs bar at Keys Fisheries and only until May 15 when stone crab season ends.  It won't be back until October 15, so get there now!  :)

At $2 a claw, they're less expensive here than at the grocery store!  And already cracked!  Of course, $2 a claw is leaving some reeling -- apparently last October they were $1 (a BUCK) a claw.  And the locals jammed the upstairs bar - this is a place that maybe seats 30, maybe and set a new record for crab claws consumed in one day.

Unfortunately, this year is the worst season for crab claws in over 40 years, leaving the local fishermen not happy and driving up the price.  But they were worth the extra buck ... as a treat.

The problem is ... now we want to go back...   that's why we need Mother Nature & Mother Ocean to get together and give us a weather break to get out of here for longer than a few days at a time!   :)
