Brrrr... chilly today.  We did more laundry & got dinghy gas this morning, then took a walk ashore and headed back to the boat about 5 PM.   Bbbbrrrr, the wind is beginning to blow and the temp is dropping.  If you are lucky enough to inherit one of these aboard your "new to you" boat, DO NOT as I almost did, throw it out!  I call it my cowboy coffee pot, and it will percolate coffee -- good coffee.

But tonight I discovered, it heats water that actually POURS easily into our solar shower so I can still take a hot shower despite the fact that the solar part of today neglected us!  I can't remember the last time I had a "hot" shower, although David reminds me it couldn't have been more than 4 days ago.  YIKES!

After showers, David was wishing for a hot toddy -- his preference was hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps -- unfortunately we didn't have either aboard.  My preference would have been Irish Coffee, but we didn't have any of those ingredients aboard either...

So instead, when the oil maintenance light came on on our Honda 2000 portable generator, David added oil.  We haven't had sun for solar or much wind for wind power for the last two days, hence the generator.  I think all that's about to change -- forecast for tomorrow is blowing 20-30 -- luckily from the NW, so we don't have that much fetch....   although we're hoping to go to watch the remote control Laser National Championships tomorrow ... but only if we're comfortable leaving the boat.  And often in that much wind, neither of us is comfortable leaving.  On the other hand, tomorrow night is supposed to be in the high 30-s (temperature) and we don't have heat.  There's a West Marine close to here that might have the heater that will run off our inverter ...   never thought of investing in it before... this is supposed to be FLORIDA and WARM!!!  It's March 1, for pete's sakes...   oh well, keeping our fingers crossed for less wind tomorrow so we can go explore again!

In the meantime, do NOT throw your inherited "cowboy coffee pot" away -- you'll be surprised at how many uses you find for it!  :)
